Nigerian Air Force Airstrikes Decimate Terrorists, Dismantle Gun Trucks in Borno and Zamfara
In a remarkable display of precision and determination, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a series of devastating airstrikes, effectively neutralizing numerous terrorists and obliterating their vital assets, including gun trucks and motorcycles. This resolute action took place in the restive regions of Borno and Zamfara.
According to a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Air Components of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji executed these crucial operations.
The first operation occurred near Lake Chad in Borno, where the Air Component targeted a newly identified terrorist hideout at Bukar Meram. This preemptive strike was launched to thwart the potential resurgence of attacks on ground troops and innocent civilians following the relocation of terrorists from Suwa to the Bukar Meram area. The results were nothing short of impressive, as numerous terrorists were neutralized, and a substantial quantity of their equipment was destroyed, including over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks.
In a separate but equally impactful operation, the Air Component of Operation Haradin Daji took action on October 11 in the Sangeko axis of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara. A convoy of terrorists, numbering approximately 70 individuals riding motorcycles along the Kabaro-Sangeko road track, was engaged by the NAF. As a result of this confrontation, several terrorists were neutralized, their motorcycles were reduced to wreckage, and others suffered injuries.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, lauded the professionalism and unwavering dedication of the air components involved in these operations. He emphasized the importance of continuing to support ground troops and maintaining the citizens’ confidence in the fight against terrorism. These successful airstrikes are a testament to the NAF’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and its people from terrorist threats.
This resolute action underscores the NAF’s ongoing commitment to enhancing security and stability in these troubled regions.
