Niger Govt. says civil servants will no longer be promoted automatically
The Niger State government has said that the state’s civil servants will no longer be promoted automatically noting that the civil servants are to undergo compulsory written examinations and interviews from this year.
A statement by the Permanent Secretary of the state’s Civil Service Commission, Habiba Ahmad, said that the examinations will be in two batches.
The first batch will be conducted between January and June, while the second will be between July and December.
Officers from grade levels six to 14 are to write the examinations and interviews after every three years.
Officers from grade levels 15 to 17 are to write theirs after every four years.

The promotion examinations and interviews will enhance and ensure that only deserving Civil Servants are promoted to the next grade levels.
