Newly Promoted Top Immigration Officer Dies Suddenly
Former Oyo State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Assistant Comptroller General Immigration (ACGI) Dada Joseph Olutayo, has died at the age of 58. His passing was confirmed in a statement issued by Mr. Joshua Dada on behalf of the family, stating that he died on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness.
The late Dada, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General, served in various capacities within the Immigration Service during his career. Born into the family of Michael Dada Ogunremi of Ilesa, Osun State, he was widely respected for his dedication to duty and commitment to public service.
He is survived by his wife, children, and other family members. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date. The family expressed their sorrow over his loss while expressing gratitude to God for his life, praying for his soul to rest in perfect peace.
