NAPTIP Rescues 2-Year-Old Trafficking Victim Sold for N100,000 in Aba
NAPTIP has successfully rescued a 2-year-old girl, identified as Chiamaka Favor (alias), who was trafficked from Abuja to Aba in February 2025. The operation, carried out by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), took place on May 8, 2025, when the child was recovered.
The suspected trafficker, arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abia, was subsequently handed over to NAPTIP for further investigation. The trafficker is believed to have collaborated with three trafficking syndicates from Abuja and sold the young girl for N100,000.
NAPTIP has appealed to the public for assistance in locating the child’s biological parents or any close relatives to facilitate her reunion with her family. The agency is actively continuing its investigation and urges anyone with information to contact them immediately.
