Mutilated Remains of Missing FRSC Officer, Daughter Discovered in Osun Herbalist’s Den

The search for a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, 39, and her daughter, Sewa, ended in tragedy after their mutilated remains were reportedly found in the residence of a suspected herbalist in Osun State.

Lasisi, a Superintendent Route Commander based in Ogun State, and her teenage daughter were declared missing on November 2 after leaving their home in the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta. Repeated attempts by relatives and colleagues to reach them failed, prompting a wider search.

According to accounts shared by individuals familiar with the case, including a family associate who spoke through a Facebook post, the discovery was made over the weekend. The remains of the mother and daughter were allegedly recovered from the home of a traditional healer in an unidentified community in Osun.

The wife of the suspect has been taken into custody, while the alleged herbalist fled before authorities arrived.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed the development on Tuesday, noting that the Osun State Police Command is leading the investigation.

“They have made arrests and recovered items believed to be the body parts of the missing victims,” Ogunlowo said, adding that Ogun State authorities will provide full support as the case unfolds.

The investigation is ongoing, with police intensifying efforts to locate the fleeing suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
