Mosque Built by Primate Ayodele to Be Commissioned by Tinubu’s Daughter
Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, will officially commission a new mosque built by Primate Elijah Ayodele on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The mosque, unveiled on February 14, 2026, is named after Madam Abibatu Mogaji, the late mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and grandmother of Folashade Tinubu-Ojo. Commissioning the mosque is considered a significant honor for the President’s daughter.
During the unveiling, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo was represented by a delegation of Iyaloja and Babalojas due to her prior commitments but confirmed her attendance for the commissioning ceremony.
Primate Ayodele explained that the decision to build the mosque and name it after Madam Mogaji was guided by divine instruction. He emphasized that the project is intended as a message of unity across religious lines.
“Building this mosque isn’t about recognition; it was a directive I felt compelled to follow. I answer only to God,” Ayodele said. “True faith is expressed through love and service, not religious fanaticism. Contribution to humanity is what matters most.”
The unveiling coincided with Primate Ayodele’s annual thanksgiving event, during which several community initiatives were carried out. These included donations of vehicles to journalists and church members, tricycles, minibuses, WAEC scholarships, accommodation support, and home appliances such as mattresses, televisions, refrigerators, and washing machines.
