Meet ADC’s New Deputy National Secretary, Hauwa Yusuf
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed Hauwa Yusuf, the party’s former National Youth Leader (Female), as its new Deputy National Secretary. The appointment was ratified by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) as part of an internal restructuring ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hauwa Yusuf rose to prominence within the ADC through her active role in youth mobilization and party-building efforts. She recently gained national attention during the July 2, 2025 ADC coalition unveiling event in Abuja, where she delivered a widely praised address welcoming political heavyweights including Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, and Rotimi Amaechi to the party. Her speech emphasized unity, inclusion, and the ADC’s readiness to offer a new political direction.
Beyond her party activities, Hauwa Yusuf is a communications professional with experience in advocacy and peacebuilding. She previously served as a Project Communication Officer at Search for Common Ground (SCL Nigeria), contributing to youth-focused storytelling and media engagement. She holds a degree in Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Her appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the ADC’s national structure, reflecting the party’s continued commitment to youth and female inclusion in leadership.
