Mark Angel Paid Emmanuella N20k While Earning $160k Monthly” – Denilson Igwe Alleges

In a recent revelation, popular comedian and skit maker Denilson Igwe has shared details about his fallout with former collaborator Mark Angel. Speaking in a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Igwe accused Mark Angel of financial misconduct and exploitation of the crew members.

Igwe claimed that he was instrumental in the establishment of Mark Angel Comedy, handling the filming of content that was later posted on Facebook. However, he alleged that he was kept in the dark about the monetization of the Facebook page.

“I was the one that started Mark Angel Comedy,” Igwe stated. “I’m an orphan, and Mark was like an elder brother. He was working as a security guard at Kilimanjaro, GRA, Port Harcourt. I learned camera work from a man called Ifeanyi and borrowed one of the cameras to shoot comic videos in our free time.”

According to Igwe, Mark suggested creating a Facebook page to post their comedy videos, a decision Igwe supported without knowing it had been monetized. Despite his significant contributions, Igwe revealed he did not receive any proceeds from the monetized content until 2016, when Mark gave him N50,000 after purchasing a car for himself.

Igwe further alleged that while the Facebook page was generating $160,000 monthly, Mark was only paying Emmanuella, one of the top stars, N20,000 per month. He claimed Emmanuella’s parents were unaware of the true value of her contributions due to their financial situation.

“Mark bought a car in 2014 and lied that it was a gift. I hadn’t received any revenue from Mark Angel Comedy at that time,” Igwe said. “In 2016, he gave me N50,000, claiming the comedy wasn’t generating revenue. But we were making $160,000 monthly from Facebook.”
