**Man Parks Car by Roadside, Hangs Self in Umuahia**
A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, along Olokoro-Umudike Road in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, as a 32-year-old man, Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu, was found dead in an apparent case of suicide.
The deceased, a native of Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in the same LGA, reportedly parked his car by the roadside before using his belt to hang himself on a nearby fence.
Eyewitnesses said his lifeless body was discovered hanging, sparking panic and prompting immediate reports to the authorities.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, stated that officers from Ubakala Division visited the scene shortly after being alerted. She noted that there were no signs of violence on the body and that preliminary investigations have begun.
The body has since been deposited at Madonna Mortuary for preservation and autopsy. The motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown as investigations continue.
