Man left to die in Kano after being fooled NCDC was going to attend to him
A man who is believed to have been infected by the Covid19 virus, has died in Kano after his family was lied to that he will be treated by the NCDC.
Speaking to Channels TV, his mother in law Salmah Ahmed, who was speaking from Abuja, confirmed that after he displayed symptoms, she was on the phone with the NCDC several times and each time she was assured that they would attend to him in Kano. It was only after his situation deteriorated and he was moved to a hospital and placed on oxygen that it became apparent that there was a crisis.
The doctor in the hospital decided that he had to be moved from the hospital and after his mother in law placed a call to the NCDC for the fourth or fifth time, they finally admitted that the NCDC in Kano was closed.
The patient eventually died from complications.
His mother in law is threatening to take action against the state government and the NCDC as she insists they are responsible for the death of her son in law.
She also spoke about her concern for her daughter and grandchildren who may have been infected but are still in Kano and have not been reached out to.
