Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki as the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA).
Arc Gbolahan Oki replaces Engr (Mrs) Abiola Kosegbe, who has also been appointed as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development with effect from 5th February, 2021.
In a released statement, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Lagos State Head of Service, described Arc Gbolahan Oki, who was before his new appointment, the Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer as a highly experienced professional, who has made significant contributions and has distinguished himself in all positions he had held previously.
He stated that the appointment is with immediate effect.
Arc Oki holds both his Bachelor of Science, BSc, and Masters of Science, MSc, degrees in Architecture from the University of Jos, Plateau State and he is also a certified member of Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) and Architect Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
Arc Gbolahan Oki has about 25 years’ experience in the construction and built environment, especially in Local Government Urban and Regional Planning Approval Procedures as well as Management and Development processes.
He has acquired experience in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State Government including the Ministry of Waterfront and Infrastructure, Lagos State Building Control Agency, (LASBCA), Lagos State Ministry of Works, Lagos State Physical Planning and Permit Authority (LASPPA) and Lagos State Urban Renewal Authority, among others.
While congratulating him on his new appointment, the Lagos State Head of Service, reiterated that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led Government has one of its main focus as the improvement of service quality in all ramifications, while also stating that the administration is fully committed to meeting the aspirations of the average Lagosians.
He urged him to keep the flag flying.
