“Kwankwaso’s Ambition Is Dead on Arrival – He Can’t Beat Tinubu” — NNPP Faction
A faction of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has ruled out the possibility of former presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso contesting on its platform in 2027, declaring his political ambitions “dead on arrival.”
Agbo Major, factional National Chairman of the NNPP, made the remarks on Saturday, saying both Kwankwaso and his ally, Buba Galadima, had been expelled from the party and no longer speak on its behalf.
“Our Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwankwasiya Movement ended shortly after the 2023 presidential election,” Major said. “We cannot even allow Kwankwaso to return for any reason — he led us into internal crises, changed the party logo, and attempted to hijack our leadership.”
Responding to Galadima’s earlier statement that Kwankwaso was staying in the party “strategically,” Major said: “He doesn’t have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest. His ambition is dead on arrival.”
Major emphasized that the NNPP is attracting new aspirants and will select its 2027 presidential candidate through a democratic and constitutional process.
