A Kano State High Court has ordered the remand of Idris Kurma for allegedly killing his wife, Aisha Idris, following a dispute over the preparation of kuli-kuli, a popular Northern Nigerian snack made from roasted and spiced groundnuts.
The incident reportedly took place in Goda village, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State. Kurma was arraigned on a one-count charge of culpable homicide under Section 221 of the Penal Code. During the hearing, the prosecution read the charge to the defendant, who pleaded not guilty.
