Kano Censorship Board Suspends Popular Actress Over Provocative Dress, Videos
The Kano State Censorship Board has announced a one-year suspension of popular Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, citing complaints about her “revealing dress and provocative videos.” The decision, revealed in a statement by the board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, comes after repeated warnings to the actress about her “crude dressing, vulgar displays, and language” in some of her online content.
The board stated that Samha’s actions violated cultural and moral standards upheld by Kano State. In addition to the suspension, her licence has been revoked, and the board has ceased censoring any films featuring her. The statement emphasized the board’s mandate to ensure all creative works align with the state’s religious, cultural, and social values.
