The Kaduna state governor is currently involved in another scandal involving the sale of government houses after it was discovered they were allocated to friends and family at the detriment of staff who are the current tenants in the property.
Amongst the sold properties were senior staff quarters belonging to the ministry of education.
Our investigation revealed that the list is recent and contains not just plots of land, but habitable residential houses mostly occupied presently by Kaduna State workers.
The buildings were earlier exempted from sale when other state government houses under the “non-essential” houses were offered for sale in 2017 for the fact that they were considered as “essential” houses since they are staff quarters of a school.
For example, in Government College Kaduna Senior Staff Quarters, 27 residential houses occupied by teachers of the school have been sold to family and friends of the governor. quit notice have been issued to the occupants without recourse to their financial condition.
On the said list items number 1, 3, 6, 7 and 18 were sold to Hadiza Isma El-Rufai, Aisha Garba El-Rufai, Kadaria Mohammed Ahmed, Zainab Halliru Garba and Sani Musa respectively. Quit notices for eviction have been issued to the poor occupants of the properties.

Attached, are pictures of some of the houses, the notification for sale of the houses and directive to issue quit notices for eviction.
It was so pathetic that one of the teachers occupying one of the houses was forcefully evicted under the rain and the roof, doors and windows of the house was immediately removed as can be seen in one of the pictures below.
