Kaduna Air Strikes Eliminate Notorious Kidnapper Janari – NAF Reports Success
In a significant blow to criminal elements plaguing Kaduna State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced on Sunday that air strikes conducted as part of Operation WHIRL PUNCH successfully neutralized the infamous terrorist and kidnap kingpin known as Janari, along with several members of his syndicate.
Janari and his accomplices had been linked to numerous attacks and abductions within Kaduna State and along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, disclosed Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force.
The air strikes, authorized after Janari and his gang were spotted near Gadar Katako in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, targeted their gathering location. The decision to strike swiftly was influenced by intelligence suggesting an imminent attack or kidnapping of vulnerable civilians.
Following the successful operation, Gabkwet reported that Janari and several other terrorists/kidnappers were confirmed eliminated. He highlighted similar air strikes carried out on January 20, 2024, near Chukuba in Niger State, which yielded positive results in neutralizing confirmed terrorists and kidnappers.
Assuring the public, Gabkwet stated, “Collaborative efforts by the NAF and other security agencies will persist, targeting all locations suspected of harboring terrorists and kidnappers.” The ongoing Operation WHIRL PUNCH continues to demonstrate the commitment of Nigerian security forces in combating criminal activities across the region.
