JUST IN: We Are Ready to Welcome Wike to APC – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is ready to welcome the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, into its fold whenever he decides to join the ruling party.
Tinubu made the declaration on Wednesday in Abuja while commissioning Arterial Road N16—from Shehu Shagari Way (Ring Road One) to Wole Soyinka Road (Arterial Road N20)—alongside other newly completed roads in the Katampe District of the FCT.
Although Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has yet to formally defect, Tinubu made it clear that his presence in the APC would be welcomed without hesitation.
“Wike is not a member of our party yet, but we will welcome him anytime he chooses to join us,” Tinubu said, speaking at the event. “With him, APC will continue to be in a joyous mood, and our rivals will keep writhing in pain.”
Wike, who stood beside the president during the commissioning, did not comment on the remarks.
