JUST IN: Terrorists Attack Kebbi Girls’ School, Abduct Students and Kill Staff Member; Kwara Security Post Also Targeted
Early Monday, armed attackers stormed Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State, abducting an unknown number of female students and killing at least one staff member. The assault, which began around 5:52 a.m., also left a school guard injured. Witnesses reported that the attackers entered the school compound as students were preparing for morning routines, firing sporadically and causing widespread confusion.
Local residents said the attackers had not moved far from the area and urged Federal and State authorities to act immediately to secure the release of the students. Families and school staff have expressed grave concern over the safety of those taken.
In a separate incident late Sunday night, terrorists attacked Rogun Village in the Kpada District of Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State. Security sources said the gunmen targeted a police outpost, engaging officers in a firefight that lasted several minutes and resulted in the deaths of a police constable and a vigilante officer.
