JUST IN: Taraba Governor’s Sister, Accidentally Shot by Police During Bandit Attack, Dies in Abuja
Miss Atsi Kefas, the sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has passed away after being accidentally shot by a police escort during a bandit attack. She succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Abuja, where she had been receiving advanced medical care.
Sources confirmed that Atsi died late last night, days after the tragic incident. The family has not yet issued an official statement on her passing. The source stated, “She finally succumbed to her injuries. The governor and his family are yet to release an official statement. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
The attack occurred last Thursday on Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. Atsi was traveling with the governor’s mother, Jumai Kefas, when gunmen targeted their convoy. In the chaos that followed, a police escort attempting to fend off the attackers accidentally shot Atsi.
Efforts to reach the governor’s official spokesperson, Emmanuel Bello, for comments were unsuccessful, as he had not responded to messages at the time of this report.
