JUST IN: Suspected Herdsmen Attack Benue Community, Many Feared Dead
Several people are feared dead after suspected herdsmen attacked Ojantele, a community located along the Abuja–Otukpo road in Benue State.
The gunmen reportedly invaded the area on Friday, opening fire on residents and causing widespread panic. Early reports indicate that more than 20 people may have been killed, while several others remain missing following the assault.
Chairman of Apa Local Government Area, Adams Ogwola, confirmed the incident on Friday afternoon. He said authorities are still working to verify the exact number of casualties.
According to him, the situation remains unclear as efforts are ongoing to assess the scale of the attack and locate those who are unaccounted for.
