JUST IN: State Assembly Speaker Dies in Egyptian Hospital
The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, has died in Cairo, Egypt, where he was receiving medical care for an undisclosed illness.
He passed away on Monday night, according to sources within the Kebbi State Government. Details surrounding his condition were not made public.
Until his death, Zuru represented Zuru Constituency in the state legislature and held a leading role in Kebbi State House of Assembly.
A senior aide to the governor on Communication and Strategy, Idris Zuru, confirmed the development, describing the incident as unexpected and significant for the state.
He said the government was still compiling full details and would issue an official statement, including funeral arrangements, in consultation with the family.
