JUST IN: Prof Zacchaeus Adangor Resigns as Rivers State Attorney-General
Prof Zacchaeus Adangor has officially resigned from his position as the Attorney-General (AG) and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State.
Adangor’s resignation, dated December 14, 2023, was formally addressed to Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Notably, Adangor cited that his decision to step down was “purely a personal one.”
Having served as the Rivers State AG for a remarkable eight years under the administration of former Governor Nyesom Wike (from May 2015 to May 2023), Adangor’s departure comes amid the turbulent political climate in the state, where the state assembly has become a focal point for intense disputes. The resignation adds a new layer of complexity to the ongoing political crisis that has been unfolding in Rivers State.
