JUST IN: Peter Obi is Weak, Lacks the Capacity to Lead Nigeria to Greatness, Says Former LP Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo
Kenneth Okonkwo, the former spokesperson for the Labour Party’s presidential campaign, has publicly criticized Peter Obi, declaring him unfit to lead Nigeria to greatness. In a candid and detailed letter to Nigerians, Okonkwo outlined his concerns and reasons for parting ways with Obi.
Okonkwo, who has been a vocal advocate for a Nigeria founded on principles of equity, justice, and fairness, expressed disappointment in both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of failing to address the country’s economic and political crises. He emphasized the need for a decisive leader who can establish a party with strong grassroots support and internal democracy, qualities he believes are absent in the current political landscape.
Reflecting on his experiences with the Labour Party post-2023 elections, Okonkwo criticized Peter Obi for not committing to building a robust party foundation. He highlighted Obi’s public declaration that he did not promise to strengthen the Labour Party, which Okonkwo believes is a critical failure in understanding the importance of a solid party base for political success.
Moreover, Okonkwo pointed out Obi’s reluctance to support Labour Unions and his failure to distance himself from the controversial activities of the party’s former National Working Committee. These actions, or lack thereof, have led Okonkwo to doubt Obi’s capability to lead Nigeria effectively and secure electoral mandates.
In his letter, Okonkwo emphasized the need for a leader who possesses integrity, charisma, and the courage to mobilize the populace and defend their votes against corrupt leaders. He expressed his frustration with the judiciary’s inability to safeguard democratic processes and highlighted the necessity for the people to take their destiny into their own hands by voting for and defending a capable leader.
Okonkwo announced his decision to continue his political journey independently of Peter Obi, driven by a commitment to principles and the quest for a more decisive and bold leader. He reassured that his move is not an indication of joining the APC or PDP but rather a step towards consolidating a more effective political movement.
In his closing remarks, Okonkwo advocated for peaceful protests as a democratic right and urged the government to exercise restraint and wisdom in managing public dissent. He reiterated his dedication to Nigeria’s greatness and called for collective efforts to overcome corrupt leadership.
“Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he declared, reaffirming his hope and commitment to the nation’s future.
