JUST IN: Onnoghen, Three Other Predecessors Present as President Tinubu Swears in Justice Kekere-Ekun as Substantive CJN
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has officially taken the oath of office as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.
This momentous event follows Justice Kekere-Ekun’s confirmation by the Senate last Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including three of her predecessors: Justice Alooma Muktar, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, and Justice Walter Onnoghen, as well as the immediate past CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Also present were members of Justice Kekere-Ekun’s family, alongside other Supreme Court justices, marking a significant chapter in Nigeria’s judiciary.
