JUST IN: Ohanaeze Youth Council President Abducted by Gunmen in Owerri
Gunmen dressed in black and numbering up to seven have abducted the President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka. According to a statement released by Chilos Godsent, President of the Igbo National Council (INC), the abduction occurred on Saturday evening, February 8, 2025, in Owerri, Imo State.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, who arrived in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV, forcefully took Igboayaka in what has been described as a “Neo Mafia Gestapo manner” at Works Layout, Owerri. Since the incident, attempts by his associates, family, and council members to contact him have been unsuccessful, as all his mobile lines were switched off.
The Igbo National Council (INC) has urged the Imo State Police Command to take immediate action in identifying the gunmen and ensuring Igboayaka’s safety. The group emphasized the growing concern among his followers, friends, and family, who remain in distress over his whereabouts.
