JUST IN: NRC Implements Tinubu’s Directive, Begins Free Train Services Thursday
In response to President Bola Tinubu’s directive, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the initiation of complimentary train rides on all passenger services, commencing Thursday, December 21, 2023, through Thursday, January 4, 2024.
President Tinubu has not only mandated free train services but has also approved a 50% reduction in interstate bus fares, facilitating affordable travel for citizens during the festive season.
Passengers are urged to secure their free tickets exclusively through online e-ticketing platforms, emphasizing that tickets will not be available for issuance at any of the corporation’s train stations. A strict policy requires commuters to present a ticket for boarding, and non-compliance will result in denied access.
The NRC released a statement advising commuters to maintain orderliness, adhere to security personnel instructions, and follow boarding guidelines set by the NRC and its officials. The corporation extends warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance to all esteemed customers.
