JUST IN: NNPP Wins All 44 LG Chairmanship Seats In Kano
The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has clinched all chairmanship seats in Kano State’s local government elections, dominating the political landscape by securing all 44 local government chairmanship positions as well as 484 councillorship seats across the state.
The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) Chairman, Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi, confirmed the NNPP’s landslide victory at a press briefing on Saturday evening, held at the commission’s headquarters in Kano. According to Professor Malumfashi, six political parties participated in the election; however, the NNPP emerged as the decisive victor in each contested seat.
This sweeping win reinforces the ruling NNPP’s influence in Kano, as the party continues to strengthen its grassroots support throughout the state. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the party’s leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, were both actively engaged in the election day proceedings, a show of support seen as pivotal to the party’s overwhelming success.
