JUST IN: Labour Party Reacts to Supreme Court Judgment, Insists Abure Remains National Chairman
The Labour Party has responded to Friday’s Supreme Court judgment, insisting that Julius Abure remains the National Chairman of the party. In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the party interpreted the ruling as a clear affirmation that only political parties have the authority to determine their leadership.
According to the statement, the apex court struck out both the suits involving Senator Nenadi Usman and Julius Abure, emphasizing that courts should not interfere in the internal affairs of political parties. “Abure is still the National Chairman of the Labour Party,” the party declared.
