JUST IN: JAMB Releases 3,921 Withheld UTME Results, Schedules Retakes for Over 24,000 Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of an additional 3,921 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, previously withheld for further investigation. This update was provided by JAMB’s spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a press statement on Sunday.

Dr. Benjamin also revealed that 24,535 candidates have been rescheduled to retake their exams on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in their selected Examination Towns. The rescheduled exams are due to significant non-compliance with the Board’s standards in certain centres.

In addition, JAMB has extended the registration deadline for the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) to Monday, June 17, 2024.

“The Board has painstakingly analysed the process and conduct of the 2024 UTME in some centres where there are strong proofs of substantial non-compliance with the Board’s standards. Consequently, 24,535 candidates have been rescheduled to retake the examination in their chosen Examination Towns on Saturday, June 22, 2024,” the statement read.

Dr. Benjamin also noted, “Meanwhile, 3,921 outstanding 2024 UTME results that had been cleared have now been released. Therefore, concerned candidates are urged to check their results from Saturday, June 1, 2024, by sending RESULT to 55019 or 66019 to ascertain their status. Those cleared will have their results available, while those rescheduled will be informed accordingly.”

Rescheduled candidates are instructed to print their supplementary Examination Notification Slip from Tuesday, June 4, 2024, to confirm their designated examination centres.

This latest release brings the total number of released results to 1,883,350. The rescheduled exams on June 22 aim to give affected candidates sufficient time to prepare.

Candidates with apparent cases of examination misconduct will face further interrogation to determine their culpability, with appropriate measures to be announced based on the findings.
