JUST IN: Finally, Tinubu Submits Ambassadorial Nominees to Senate
President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to screen and confirm three non-career ambassadorial nominees. His request was conveyed in a letter read on the Senate floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The nominees are Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa State and Ayodele Oke from Oyo State. According to the letter, the appointments were made under Section 171 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
Tinubu urged the Senate to consider and approve the nominees without delay. Following the announcement, Akpabio referred the list to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Senator Sani Bello, with instructions to review the nominations and present its report within one week.
