JUST IN: Federal Capital Territory High Court Grants Bail to Former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele
The Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted bail to the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele. The decision came on Wednesday as the court deliberated on his legal situation.
The presiding judge, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi, ruled in favor of granting bail to Emefiele. As per the court’s orders, the former CBN governor is to be released to his legal counsel, pending further legal proceedings. Notably, Emefiele will be required to appear in court when summoned, ensuring his cooperation with the ongoing legal process.
Furthermore, in a move aimed at securing his availability and preventing any potential flight from justice, Justice Adeniyi instructed Emefiele to deposit all his travel documents with the court’s registrar.
This development follows the intense scrutiny surrounding Godwin Emefiele’s legal situation, and it marks a pivotal moment in the unfolding legal proceedings.
