“Jesus Christ Is the Living Son of God Who Conquered Death”: Trump Vows to Defend Christian Faith in Easter Message

Former U.S. President Donald Trump marked the beginning of Easter week with a message reaffirming his commitment to defending Christianity and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In a statement released by the White House on Palm Sunday, Trump declared Jesus the “living Son of God who conquered death.”

“This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ — the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity,” Trump said.

He added that his administration is renewing its promise to defend the Christian faith across American life — from schools and the military to workplaces, hospitals, and government institutions. “May God bless you and your family during this special time of year,” he concluded.

The message comes as Trump continues to spotlight his faith following a failed assassination attempt last year, which he credits with deepening his spiritual conviction. In a symbolic move last Friday, the White House replaced the official portrait of former President Barack Obama with a dramatic painting showing a bloodied Trump raising his fist during the July 2024 attempt on his life.
