JAMB Releases 2024 UTME Results; 64,624 Candidates’ Results Pending Investigation
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the results for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while withholding the results of 64,624 candidates. The announcement was made by the Board’s Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Bwari, Abuja.
Out of 1,989,668 candidates who registered for the 2024 UTME, 1,904,189 sat for the examination, while 80,810 were absent. The results of 1,842,464 candidates have been released, with the remainder subject to further investigation due to various reasons, including verification processes, procedural checks, center-based investigations, and allegations of examination misconduct.
Professor Oloyede highlighted the need for thorough examination of the withheld results, noting that the Board is committed to ensuring the integrity of the examination process. The withheld results will undergo detailed scrutiny to maintain the credibility of the UTME and safeguard against malpractices.
JAMB has established a presence in nine foreign centers, including Abidjan, Addis Ababa, Buea, Cotonou, London, Jeddah, and Johannesburg, to accommodate international candidates and promote Nigerian educational institutions abroad. These foreign centers are part of JAMB’s efforts to enhance academic diversity and global reach.
