JAMB Announces Registration and Examination Dates for 2025 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the official schedule for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the sale of application forms will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. Direct Entry candidates will be able to purchase their application documents and e-PINs from March 10 to April 7, 2025.
The Mock-UTME has been scheduled for April 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025. Candidates opting for both the UTME and the mock exam will pay a total of ₦8,200, while those registering for the UTME alone will pay ₦7,200. The breakdown of the fees includes ₦3,500 for the application, ₦1,000 for the reading text, ₦700 for CBT centre registration, ₦1,500 for CBT service, ₦1,500 for the mock exam service, and ₦500 for bank charges.
Prof. Oloyede also introduced a special mock UTME for candidates below the age of 16. He clarified that this initiative is not intended for admission purposes but will allow younger candidates to assess their abilities before taking the actual UTME in the future.
To qualify for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria, candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025. However, exceptionally talented candidates under 15 may be considered if they score at least 280 in the UTME and excel in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME examinations.
