JAMB Adjusts 2026 UTME Morning Reporting Time for Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revised the reporting time for candidates taking the first session of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In an update posted on its official X account on Monday, the board stated that candidates are now expected to be at their centres by 7:00 a.m., replacing the earlier 6:30 a.m. call time. The first session will now run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

JAMB also confirmed that the change does not require candidates to reprint their examination slips.

According to the board, the adjustment applies across the daily examination timetable, which is structured into four sessions from Monday through Friday to support smoother operations at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

Officials linked the revision to feedback from candidates and parents, especially concerns about early morning travel, safety on roads before daylight, and logistical strain for those coming from distant locations.

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place between Thursday, April 16 and Saturday, April 25, 2026.
