Unarguably, out of all the gubernatorial aspirants contesting under the platform of our great party (PDP), Engineer Adedeji Doherty stands out and towers high as the best and most thoroughly bred LAGOS PDP aspirant.
This humble and amiable specie expressed his interest over two decades ago, precisely, at youthful age of thirty eight years old to contest for LAGOS STATE Governorship position, under the banner of our great party (PDP).
Since then and up till this moment at a fully grown age of Sixty(60) years, the burning desire and passion to serve Lagosians through the platform of our great party has remained alive and undying in his vein despite the ups and downs of party politics and intrigues.
He remains undaunted in face of many daunting political challenges and has remained unshaken like a solid rock. Ever since, he has been with the party through thick and thin.
Obviously, Engineer Adedeji Doherty is not an opportunist but a man with strong vision and focus, right from his youthful days. I am therefore making a passionate appeal to all well meaning PDP members, particularly the DELEGATES to the forthcoming LAGOS STATE PDP Governorship primary election to let us embrace DOHERTY and reward his loyalty to our great party by voting for him so that we can pass a right and strong message to all men of conscience especially the incoming and the new generation of PDP members, as well as the Youths, that it pays to serve and be loyal.
These youths who are toiling day and night for the party would hence be confident that their efforts will not be in vain and would be rewarded in the nearest future.
The significance of a good reward system for loyalty and service in any human gathering can not be over emphasized. In going further, it is an indisputable fact that any Organization be it social, economic or Political that value and places high premium on his members with good reward system will be more productive, grow faster and outsmart its peers.
More importantly, the effects of reward for party loyalty on the pysche of PDP Youths had tremendous and huge contributions to party building and membership drive.
Once the agents of change know that their efforts are being noticed and it would be adequately rewarded, they will go extra mile and to any legitimate length to promote, propagate and defend the party.
This is why your support for DOHERTY ambition would stimulate and benefit the party.
Away from the above, I wish to advise those who are filled with hatred in their hearts to replace it with love, and for those with self serving agenda to replace it with party interest, because failure to do so and have a change of mind would imply that they are boarding ill-fated plane.
Their recent actions of unleashing their political armoured tanks and missiles of political propaganda on the integrity and personality of Engineer Adedeji Doherty clearly suggests that they are unrepentant detractors that need to be curtailed. The most recent one which came from their figment of imagination or hallucinating state of mind was that “DOHERTY is a PDP member in the morning and APC member at night”.
This allegation is not only baseless and unfounded but also betrays logical reasoning and to say the least very cheap blackmail on a loyal party man that has been tested and trusted for over two decades.
As expected, a Liberator like Engineer Adedeji Doherty who wanted to chart a new Political course and direction to liberate party members and the masses will definitely step on toes and court many political foes both within and outside the state chapter but we do not expect them to descend so pedestrian.
Although, the recent popularity and towering stature of Engineer Adedeji Doherty before LAGOS STATE PDP members as the “voice for the voiceless”, the “hope for the hopeless” is a source of worry for them and giving them sleepless nights. This clearly is the main reason why out of all the gubernatorial aspirants in Lagos State PDP, he has been subjected to political attacks and allegations that are unfounded and baseless.
Let me remind our esteem members that these set of characters with liberal minds think they can afflict us with collective amnesia but they forget so soon the ignoble role they played in 2019 election when they adopted a candidate of another party as their own gubernatorial candidate, with this decision, they betrayed LAGOS STATE PDP because they were not on the same political page with Mr Jimi Agbaje, the then, LAGOS STATE PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2019 election.
This is gross indiscipline and anti-party and the highest order of hypocrisy in party politics.
Hence, I humbly call on well meaning party members to shun the antics and political distractions of these men of straw with uncredible voices, who are sheding crocodile tears.
They are only party men when things are going in their ways and are ready to unleash all political arsenal at their armoury, both unethical and undignifying to tear the fabric of the party to pieces when things go in another direction. To me, their case could be likened to a case of pot calling the kettle black. Their actions and behaviours both remote and immediate clearly suggest that nothing is altruistic in their intentions and motives.
On the final note, I wish to humbly and passionately appeal to all the party members especially the DELEGATES to look inward and resist the temptations of material inducements by giving their votes to one of theirs, a truly PDP grown and bred from youth to adulthood, one who knows where the shoe pinches, one with excellent background knowledge of party and LAGOS STATE politics as well as international exposure who does not need to be tutored or spoon-fed by unseen hands and political forces.
Please let us come together and speak with one voice and say NO to imported candidate/product.
Let us buy, promote and sell PDP product.
Engineer Adedeji Doherty is a PDP product, a vote for him, is a vote for PDP, stop badmouthing him, he is our product.
