Iran Denies Talks with US, Contradicting Trump’s Claim of ‘Very Good’ Negotiations

Conflicting accounts have emerged between United States and Iran over whether any diplomatic engagement is currently underway, raising fresh uncertainty about tensions in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington and Tehran had held “very good and productive conversations” over the past two days. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump indicated that the discussions were aimed at resolving ongoing hostilities in the region and suggested they had already influenced his decision to pause planned strikes on Iranian energy facilities.

The dispute leaves observers with two sharply different narratives: one suggesting progress toward de-escalation, the other indicating no diplomatic channel exists. The uncertainty has implications for regional stability and key waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy supplies.
