INTERPOL Declares 14 Nigerians Wanted for Human and Drug Trafficking

The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has declared 14 Nigerians wanted for various offences, including human trafficking, drug trafficking, robbery, cheating, and forgery. The announcement came via Red Notices published on INTERPOL’s official website, detailing the charges and requesting assistance from law enforcement worldwide.

The individuals listed include Felix Omoregie, Jessica Edosomwan, Uche Egbue, Jude Uzoma, Chinedu Ezeunara, Benedict Okoro, Ikechukwu Obidiozor, Alachi Stanley, Bouhari Salif, Timloh Nkem, Austine Costa, Okromi Festus, Akachi Vitus, and Mary Eze. Each suspect is wanted in connection with serious crimes in countries where they are alleged to have operated.

Among the charges, Felix Omoregie is accused by Belgian authorities of leading a criminal organization that exploits minors for prostitution. Similarly, Jessica Edosomwan is wanted in France for trafficking multiple victims and laundering proceeds from organized crimes. Others, including Uche Egbue, Jude Uzoma, and Chinedu Ezeunara, are sought by South American countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay for alleged drug trafficking offences.

The notices also include charges against Benedict Okoro, wanted by Nicaragua for alleged organized crime, and Ikechukwu Obidiozor, Alachi Stanley, and Akachi Vitus, sought by Angola for alleged kidnapping, robbery, and illegal firearms possession. Mary Eze is wanted in Denmark for human trafficking, while Bouhari Salif faces drug smuggling charges in China. Timloh Nkem is accused in Canada of sexual assault and violating legal conditions.

In India, Austine Costa and Okromi Festus are wanted for criminal conspiracy and forgery-related offences, including the possession and use of forged documents for fraudulent purposes.

INTERPOL clarified that Red Notices are not international arrest warrants but serve as alerts to member countries to locate and provisionally detain individuals pending extradition or legal action. The organization emphasized that national laws determine the arrest of suspects and urged the public to report any information to their local police authorities.

This announcement highlights INTERPOL’s continued efforts to combat transnational crimes by facilitating international cooperation and raising awareness of global threats.
