Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of APC Leader Remi Tinubu has tabled a motion before the Senate to compel NAFDAC to regulate cosmetic products in Nigeria.
After she tabled the motion, the Senate then discusses the issue in greater detail with several senators contributing to the discussion very passionately.

Nigerians however reacted to the issue in annoyance wondering how this can even be a priority of the Senate in the middle of a global pandemic, high levels of insecurity and economic crisis. They took to social media to express their anger mocking the Senate for misplacing their priorities

I support the @NGRSenateโs ban on bleaching creams, because it will at least have a positive influence on the governance of Imo state, which is at the moment suffering from bleaching cream induced hallucinations at its highest levels, which led to the unfortunate #OrluAirAttack

The Nigerian Senate has ended the fight between 7UP and Bigi Foods. They want to regulate bleaching cream. Now maybe they can also settle WizKid vs Davido, Farmers vs Herdsmen and EFCC vs Yahoo Boys๐ Misplaced priorities โผ๏ธ#SpeakUpDrKemi๐ฃ pic.twitter.com/839MmAXkBv

Is the Nigerian Senate not wonderful? pic.twitter.com/DxLUUXYgoZ
Just imagine a whole Senate deliberating about bleaching creams and cosmetics amidst the humongous challenges we are facing as a Nation. This very embarrassing and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
