Imo Government Addresses Rumors About Gov. Uzodinma’s 2027 Vice Presidential Bid

In a press release, Declan Emelumba, the State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, condemned the posters as part of a deliberate campaign to create discord between Governor Uzodinma and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Emelumba described the rumors as “laughable and preposterous,” noting Uzodinma’s strong support for President Tinubu and his efforts to bolster the President’s agenda. He accused opponents of the administration of spreading fake news to disrupt the unity within the ruling party, particularly following failed attempts to incite violent protests.

The Commissioner urged those responsible for spreading such misinformation to cease their activities, stressing that Uzodinma harbors no vice-presidential ambitions now or in the future. He reaffirmed that any contrary claims are purely fictitious and should be disregarded.
