“I’m Ready to Meet Tinubu for Nigeria’s Progress” — Sule Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has expressed willingness to meet with President Bola Tinubu if such engagement would promote national unity and development.

Speaking at his Bamaina residence on Sallah day, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain said he remains open to dialogue aimed at advancing Nigeria’s progress.

“I will be willing. So when are we going to see him?” Lamido said, indicating readiness for talks with the President.

Lamido also dismissed reports suggesting he declined an invitation to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that no such offer had been made.

“When was I invited? Let me know, please. Did he send you to me? I’m hearing this for the first time,” he said.

He stressed that any potential meeting should prioritise national interest over partisan considerations, reiterating his openness to engagement focused on Nigeria’s development.

Addressing speculation linking him to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Lamido described the claims as unfounded, attributing them to social media manipulation.

“In this era of social media and content creation, anything is possible. People create stories. I have not seen such pictures,” he said.

The former governor also called on Nigerians to reflect on their electoral choices, noting that leadership outcomes are shaped by voters’ decisions.

“When we were campaigning, we urged Nigerians to vote with integrity and conscience. People voted, and whatever you put in is what you get out,” he added.
