“I’m Married to a Tribal-Free Man Who Shows True Islam” — Igbo Woman Hails Muslim Husband
Ekechi Rahamat Chinenyenwa Jaji, an Igbo woman from Enugu State who converted to Islam, has praised her husband, Barrister Muhammad Jaji of Plateau State, describing him as a “detribalised” Nigerian.
The couple, married in 2025, recently visited Southern Kaduna, sharing photos from the trip. Ekechi highlighted her husband’s respect for diversity, noting his ability to connect with people across Nigeria’s ethnic groups.
“Call him Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo, he answers as if he belongs to all. And the sweetest part is that he is a Muslim,” she said. “He is a man who values humanity and embodies the true principles of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance.”
Ekechi described Muhammad as a partner she deeply values and would not trade for anything, presenting a personal example of interfaith harmony and cultural unity in Nigeria.
