“I’m Going Nowhere” – Rev. Dachomo Rejects Asylum Offers from Australia and Austria, Stands with Persecuted Christians
Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has declined asylum offers from countries including Australia and Austria, citing his commitment to remain in Nigeria amid ongoing threats to his life.
Rev. Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, revealed the offers came while Islamist extremists had placed a bounty on him. Despite the danger, he said he chose to stay to support persecuted Christians in Plateau and across Nigeria.
In a Wednesday interview, Dachomo said, “I can’t be afraid of them. They should be afraid of me,” underscoring his determination to remain with his community regardless of the threats.
Though friends, family, and colleagues encouraged him to accept asylum, he has consistently rejected it, prioritizing the safety and support of those affected by attacks from terrorists and Fulani bandits.
