‘I’m also a prophet, Tinubu and Sani will do 8 years in power’ – Umahi

In a recent statement, Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, predicted that both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State will serve eight years in power. Umahi made this declaration during the launch of the second phase of the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road construction project, expressing confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Sani.

Umahi, who also took the opportunity to criticize the opposition coalition, urged opposition figures to adopt a constructive approach rather than a destructive one. He particularly targeted the efforts of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who recently announced a coalition with the aim of removing Tinubu from office. On Friday, a meeting took place in Kaduna, bringing together Atiku, former governor Nasir El-Rufai, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, and other opposition leaders.

Addressing the situation, Umahi declared, “I want to assure you, my dear governor, Uba Sani, that I’m also a prophet. It was only David in the Bible who was both a prophet and a preacher, and God has told me that you will do 8 years, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do 8 years.”

He went on to advise the opposition to provide alternatives to the policies they criticize, emphasizing that opposition is about offering solutions, not just pointing out flaws. Umahi also took a moment to praise the government’s efforts, noting the recent positive remarks from financial institutions. According to Umahi, the World Bank had recently acknowledged Nigeria’s improved financial situation, following the reforms initiated by the Tinubu administration. “Nigeria is working and the worst is over,” he concluded, expressing faith that the country is on the right path.

In his speech, Umahi also called for a more responsible and constructive opposition, one that works towards improving the country rather than simply undermining the government.
