“I’m a Lagosian Like Tinubu” — Godswill Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday said he considers himself a Lagosian, citing his long personal and professional ties to the state.
Akpabio made the remark in Lagos while representing President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of the Ojota–Opebi link bridge, the E-GIS project, and the Alausa complex.
Addressing attendees, the Senate President explained that his connection to Lagos dates back to his early years as a member of the National Youth Service Corps. He noted that he lived in areas around Bourdillon and worked in Ajose Adeogun during his career in the telecommunications sector.
Akpabio also said he practiced law in Lagos after qualifying, with experience in parts of the city including Opebi and Allen. Based on his time in the state, he stated that he has witnessed significant development across Lagos over the years.
He added that his role at the event reflected his position as head of the National Assembly, representing a democratically elected government.
