IK Osakioduwa: ‘God Never Designed Woman to Work, Only for Companionship’
In a recent episode of the Toke Moments podcast hosted by Toke Makinwa, popular On-Air Personality (OAP) IK Osakioduwa stirred controversy with his views on women and financial responsibilities within marriage.
Osakioduwa asserted that women were not designed by God to work, but rather to provide companionship to men. He justified his belief by referencing the Biblical creation story, stating, “God made Adam, placed him in the garden to tilt the ground, right? And he said he made a help meet, to help him. He didn’t make her to help with the work, the work was never too much for Adam.”
The OAP, known for his candid opinions, also revealed his personal approach to finances in his marriage, emphasizing that he has never split bills with his wife and has no intention of doing so in the future. “I’m not looking into my wife’s pocket for anything,” he stated firmly.
Osakioduwa further elaborated on his financial philosophy, likening it to a gym scenario where his wife might voluntarily contribute financially, but he promptly reimburses her. He adamantly declared, “I will never ever in my life go 50/50.”
While acknowledging that other men may have different financial arrangements with their spouses, Osakioduwa remained steadfast in his belief that his approach ensures a harmonious marital relationship. “It’s just the better way to operate, it’s my system and I know everybody’s system is different,” he added.
His comments have sparked varied reactions on social media, with some applauding his traditional views on marriage roles while others criticized them as outdated and patriarchal. Osakioduwa’s perspective continues to fuel discussions on gender roles and financial dynamics within relationships.
