Ibom Air Passenger Dismisses Reports of ₦500bn Suit, Says Legal Action Still Imminent
Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger who was recently in the news over an altercation on board one of the airline’s flights, has dismissed reports claiming she has filed a ₦500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and others.
In a statement released via her Instagram Stories, Emmanson described the circulating report as *false and misleading*. She clarified that she has not initiated any legal proceedings yet but hinted that such action may soon be taken.
“My attention has been drawn to a fake report claiming that I have filed a ₦500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government, NCAA, and others. This information is false and misleading. I have not taken any such legal action yet.
When I eventually do anything of such nature (which is imminent), I will personally update the public myself via my official page,” she wrote.
For emphasis, Emmanson also revealed that her lawyer is Adam Atakpa of Kipppraise Attorneys, urging the public to disregard the viral claim and avoid being misled.
This clarification comes in the wake of the August 5 incident in which Emmanson was forcibly removed from an Ibom Air aircraft following a confrontation with a flight attendant. While she has not confirmed when she will take legal steps, her latest statement suggests that action against the airline may be forthcoming.
