‘I Only Fingered Her,’ Says Seminarian Arrested for Defiling 10-Year-Old in Anambra
A 34-year-old seminarian, Chukwudi Okoye, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl on her graduation day. The victim, who was entrusted to Okoye’s care, was brutally assaulted after being lured to his bed under the guise of playing with him.
Okoye, a native of Enugwu-Agidi and a resident of Amanuke, claimed during interrogation that he only fingered the victim, as his manhood could not penetrate her private part. He pleaded for pardon, attributing the heinous act to the devil’s influence.
The victim’s grandmother reported that the girl fell ill a week after the incident and was taken to Okoye’s house, where he was forced to take her to the hospital for treatment. The incident was confirmed by Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, who stated that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and will face charges.
