“I lost my father and my wife, we must take revenge,” Iran’s new leader vows
Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has vowed to avenge the deaths of members of his family following the recent war involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
In his first public statement since the conflict, Khamenei said the war brought deep personal losses, including the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, and his wife.
“I lost my father, I lost my wife. My sister also lost her child and her husband,” he said, describing the period as one of both personal grief and national hardship.
Khamenei said the losses had strengthened his determination and promised that those responsible for the attacks would face consequences.
He also called for unity among Iranians in the aftermath of the conflict, urging citizens to remain together despite the suffering caused by the war.
“We have to protect this unity and this is only possible when we are together and we find common ground,” the statement said.
The Iranian leader expressed sympathy for families who lost loved ones during the conflict and pledged that the government would compensate victims affected by the destruction.
Khamenei also praised citizens across the country for their resilience during the war, saying their response demonstrated national solidarity in the face of adversity.
