I Have No Other Husband but George Akume, SGF’s Wife Says at New Year Mass

Mrs. Regina Akume, wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has publicly reaffirmed her marriage and loyalty to her husband, stating that she remains married to him despite public discussions about their family.

Mrs. Akume made the declaration during a New Year Mass in a video that has since circulated widely on social media. Addressing the congregation, she spoke firmly about the unity of her family.

“I want to tell the world that I still love Mr. George Akume. He is my husband,” she said, gesturing toward members of her family seated in the church.

She identified her children present at the service and dismissed speculation surrounding her marriage. “That is my man and that is my husband. I have no other husband but him. I do not care what the world says,” she stated, drawing applause from worshippers.

During the service, Mrs. Akume also spoke about a recent health challenge, describing it as a difficult period in her life. She said she has since recovered and attributed her healing to God.

“I thank God for granting me healing and making me healthy again,” she said.

She went on to reaffirm her Christian faith, describing God as supreme and without equal. She also spoke on the significance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, saying no other sacrifice compares to it.

Her remarks come amid public interest and discussion surrounding the Akume family, following reports that the SGF had taken another wife.
